I offer three convenient services:

Checking the final digital files or physical book for last-minute errors and quirks introduced in formatting. I also look for grammatical errors, including punctuation, capitalization, verb tense, spelling, and sentence structure.

Choose a Proofread if:

You have already had your work professionally copyedited.
Your work has been formatted for digital or physical publication.
You are able to send me a copy of your book.
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as clarity, logic, and consistency, while retaining your unique voice.

Choose a Light Copyedit if:

You have a strong sense of how your piece flows from beginning to end.
You are not looking for structural input.
You have done a great deal of developmental work on your own.
All the mechanics of a light copyedit, with a heavy dose of developmental and structural suggestion.

Choose a Heavy Copyedit if:

You want a strong editorial influence (my “best judgment”).
You know you have a great idea/story but need help pulling it together.
Your manuscript has never received rigorous feedback.

With all services, I use the "track changes" feature in Microsoft Word, so you may see the changes I have suggested and choose to accept or decline all or some of them. I like to make it as convenient and flexible for you, and make sure you have the final say in all edits.

In order to get a sense of your writing style, and determine the level of editing necessary, as well as the rate, I will need to see a five page sample of the book you would like me to edit. Either contact me first, or simply submit your sample (Word .doc or .docx) here:

A deep, heart-felt tattoo. I’m sure they meant well. As far as grammar errors go, it doesn’t get much worse than a misspelled tattoo. That stuff is permanent, people. On a positive note, it shouldn’t be a costly fix…after everyone has had their laugh at this unfortunate individual!

Ok, I’ll give them “Thru.” That’s a commonly accepted shortened version of the word. But “Enterance?” YOU FAIL.

YEAH! TO BAD!

I think they were trying to sound tough, but it sort of loses its effect with the ridiculous spelling error.

Getting the impression that creating signs does not require a college degree. ….Or a high school diploma. Perhaps they’d consider employing the services of copyeditor?

The Honest Real Estate Agent

Just wanted to share that my friend Mario Jannatpour, author of the first book I helped edit, “The Honest Real Estate Agent,” informed me that December 2013 was the best month on record for sales of his book an Amazon! Very exciting news. It currently ranks #3 in the Real Estate Sales books category on Amazon! If you’re a new real estate agent, or considering entering the real estate industry, this is a must-have book full of tips on getting your career started the right way. Check out the book synopsis over here on my site, and then head over to Amazon to purchase it in paperback or Kindle edition.

Another one from my personal collection. Photographed from outside of one of my former office locations. Perhaps the designer of this sign should have repeated first grade, since they clearly weren’t paying attention during THEIR English lessons.

Thought I’d kick off my new “Grammar Mistake of the Week” (GMOTW) series with one from my own neighborhood. Driving into the neighborhood one day, I spotted this brand new street sign. Had to stop and snap a picture before they fixed the error with a replacement sign a couple days later. Really guys….Cramberry?
